Tithe Barn Wedding Videographer
Last November Cassandra & Rich contacted me last minute with just over two weeks to go before their wedding at the Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey in Harrogate Yorkshire
I was looking forward to being a Wedding Videographer at the Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey given it was such a unique venue in Yorkshire.
Last minute booking
It’s not unusual for couples to decide later on in the planning process to have a Wedding video.
However just two weeks before the wedding is a new record for me. As it turned out I was available and having not as yet filmed any wedding in Harrogate in Yorkshire I was keen to capture their day for them in a Cinematic Style Wedding Film
Winter Wedding
It was a cold November day, in fact if felt much more like January than November.Cass and Rich were brave and more than willing to go out for a photo and video shoot in and around Bolton Abbey.
Nestled in the small Yorkshire town of Skipton in North Yorkshire, England, is The Tithe Barn – Bolton Abbey, a rustic wedding venue in a rural setting.
The Tithe Barn has a fairytale aesthetic. First built in the 16th century, this historic barn setting is a picturesque sight set within the Duke of Devonshire’s majestic Bolton Abbey Estate near the Yorkshire Dales.
The Venue
The Grade II listed building is one of the largest exclusive-use wedding venues in the UK, newly restored and still retaining its original charm.
The venue’s retains it’s ancient features, has exquisite views, and irresistible cuisine. If you are looking for a ‘get away from it all wedding venue in North Yorkshire, then you would find the Tithe Barn hard to beat.
This was my first time filming a Wedding at the Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey in Yorkshire, but I immediately knew once I had arrived the venue that this was going to be a beautiful backdrop for Cassandra & Rich’s wedding video.

The Tithe Barn
The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey, I learned from the Photographer, Paul Joseph, was a newish wedding venue. This large space is ideal for couples looking for a wedding venue that has rustic charm but also is well thought out. It is also large enough to accommodate a large wedding gathering while at the same time cosy enough to not feel cold and vacuous. The candlelit Chandeliers amongst the other candles that illuminated the venue created a stunning atmosphere.
The Kitchen has this amazing Grill which is like a feature at this venue and as the guest are entering the Ceremony room you can see in the distance at the other end of the venue the flames from the Grill- it really is quite magical, you can see this in Cass & Rich’s wedding video trailer here. The staff there were very attentive to the wedding party and even ourselves – photographers and videographer- in that we got fed which is always a bonus.
A Family of Four…
When I was chatting with Cass and Rich a couple of weeks before their wedding day it became apparent that the couple’s two little Sausage Dogs were like their children and they seemed quite upset that they couldn’t bring along the Dogs to be part of their big day.
I suggested they get a friend to bring them say a good hour or so before the ceremony to the venue so that they could be with Rich as he greeted the guests arriving and in that way be part of the wedding day and the video!
A few days after our chat Rich contacted me to let me know that it had been arranged and that the Dogs would be there an hour before the Ceremony and then whipped away just before Cassandra arrived with her Brides Maids. It all went to plan and they made it into the film and everybody fussed over these two gorgeous little Dogs.
I love it when you can add into a couples Wedding Film things that are not only personal but also important to them and just a little bit different, as this was.
Tithe Barn Wedding Videographer
Bolton Abbey in Harrogate Yorkshire is a great setting for a Wedding and an amazing backdrop for a wedding video. The Tithe Barn certainly is a venue I would recommend to couples looking for something a little bit different.
